TofuWarlock—Sister Stream YouTube Thumbnail

My brother, Liam Plendl, likes to livestream playing videogames on YouTube with his friends, and occasionally that includes me. So he asked me if I could make a thumbnail that he could use whenever he livestreams with me.

 

He wanted the to depict the two of us playing the SNES game Tetris Attack, which is one of our favorite games to play together. As usual, he wanted to be the butt of the joke in the scene. So to the best of my ability I recreated the Tetris Attack versus board, and I featured Liam buried under his board's blocks and garbage blocks. The scene then shows me walking over from my board and taunting him.

I wanted the various other elements of the board to react to the scene. Our chosen characters, Poochy and Bumpty, are looking on in pity and shock respectively. Even the stars that count wins at the bottom-center of the screen and the bottommost garbage block are watching on. The numbers chosen for the time and scores are based on juvenile jokes that I knew Liam would appreciate.

I tried to emulate the display lettering that Tetris Attack uses the best that I could with the, "Starting Soon" text to the right of the scene.

Both Liam and I get a kick out of this thumbnail even today, and he keeps it in his files for whenever he wants to bring me on.
